Who leads and runs the church?
Everyone does! In the Episcopal tradition, leadership isn't just left to the professionals. Church ministers include everyday people (the congregation), along with the formally ordained leaders like bishops, priests, and deacons.
What is the role of an everyday church member?
“Ministry" isn't just a job inside the building—it’s also how we live our life out in the world. The role is simply to:
Be a good neighbor: Each person should represent love, kindness, and hope in all places (at work, at home, or in the community).
Bring people together: Each person’s unique personal strengths and talents help heal divisions and bring peace to the world.
Have a voice: Each person is encouraged to take an active part in community life, help make decisions, and shape community worship.
