St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Beaumont, Texas, offers the Igbo Service of Holy Eucharist, a weekly worship service celebrated entirely in the Igbo language.

Led by The Rev. Emmanuel Onyemaobi, the service provides an opportunity for worship, prayer, and fellowship in the Igbo language.

No previous connection to the Episcopal Church is required. The service is open to those familiar with the Episcopal or Anglican tradition, those visiting a church for the first time, and those seeking an Igbo-speaking Christian community.

What to Expect

The Igbo Service of Holy Eucharist follows the Episcopal tradition of Christian worship centered on the Holy Eucharist, with the entire service conducted in Igbo.

The service includes Scripture, prayer, preaching, and the celebration of Holy Communion.

If you have never attended an Episcopal service before, don't worry. You are welcome to come as you are. Our hope is that you will feel comfortable, welcomed, and at home.
