The vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. St. Stephen's has nine Vestry Members who are elected each October and who serve 3 year terms with three people rolling off each year. The presiding officer of the Vestry is the rector (head pastor). There are two wardens. The senior warden is a support person for the rector and leads the parish between rectors. The junior warden has responsibility for church property and buildings. Other officers consist of treasurer and clerk. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to ensure effective organization and planning, and manage resources and finances.
