Community of Hope – The Community of Hope is a lay pastoral care ministry, which began at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in 1994. The mission of The Community of Hope in the Diocese of Texas is “to help create Christian communities of lay pastoral caregivers, united in prayer, shaped by Benedictine Spirituality, and equipped for and serving in pastoral care ministries.” The people served are found in hospitals, rest homes, hospices, correctional institutions, and in other locations, as well as homebound people in the churches. PLUS (After School Program) – PLUS (Pupils Learning Under Supervision) is an after-school program for All Saints School and other children through 8th grade. Prayer Shawl Ministry –People of the Prayer Shawl Ministry knit shawls and pray for people who are ill or homebound. These shawls are then blessed by a priest and given to the ill or homebound so that they may be warmed by the shawl and reminded of the love, care, and prayers thatpeople have for them. Runners for Hope – Runners for Hope is a ministry responsive to the needs of the poor and oppressed in the African Nation of Uganda, especially those seeking to continue their education and those who have athletic ability. Runners for Hope obtains badly needed supplies for boys and girls in Uganda to use in their schools, such as: basic school supplies, athletic equipment, and basic medical supplies. Ubi Caritas – A truly unique ministry for our community, Ubi Caritas has provided healthcare to the uninsured since 1998. It is the only full-time health and dental clinic in the Beaumont area dedicated exclusively to serving the uninsured. Contact: Pat Ritchie.
