Christian Education for Teens
Youth Group – St. Stephen’s Youth Ministry seeks to transform our youth through the knowledge, experience, and sharing of Christ’s unconditional love. Contact: Church Office.
We are dedicate d to helping youth (6th through 12th grades) to develop and nurture the knowledge and love of God by studying, experiencing, and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. A knowledge and experience of the love of Jesus Christ can provide a youth with the tools, confidence, and love to build their lives upon. Christ provides the love to get through hard times, and He provides the guidance to make strong, well balanced decisions for the rest of our lives.
We believe in three foundational pillars:
1) Study – We study God’s word in the Bible regularly so that we may get to know God. We are a Gospel-centered ministry. It is our desire to not only learn the stories of the Bible, but to learn to see what they mean for the way in which we live our lives.
2) Fellowship – We share the love of Christ in community. We regularly play games, eat meals, and have outings and take trips together. St. Stephen’s Youth Group is a place to meet new friends and learn to love each other unconditionally.
3) Outreach – Christ also calls on us to share his love with the world. Thus, we will take mission trips, go out into the larger community, and do service work. We seek to reach out to those in need and to set an example by which others may see and experience Christ’s love.

Acolytes
Youth from 4th grade through 12th grade who assist priests during services. Acolytes serve many essential roles during the service. Acolytes bear the cross, torches, and the Gospel Book, as well as other items at times, during the processions in and out. Acolytes also light and extinguish candles before and after the service. Senior acolytes also assist the deacon in preparation of the table for Holy Communion. They also serve in numerous other ways during the services as needed. Acolyting is a great way to involve the youth of the church in the leadership of worship and to integrate them into the church. If you are interested in becoming an acolyte or in your child becoming an acolyte, please contact our wonderful Acolyte Master, Lillian Howell.
